Paris - The organisers of the Tour de France said on Thursday they would await additional tests before deciding whether to strip three-time Tour winner Alberto Contador of his 2010 title.
Contador has been provisionally suspended after the announcement that a doping test during the Tour de France in July had found a small amount of the banned substance clenbuterol in his body.
Cycling's ruling body the UCI has said additional scientific tests were required before any conclusions could be drawn.
"The organisers of the Tour de France will therefore wait for the results of these additional analyses and a definitive decision by the UCI," the Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO) said on the Tour website.
