Cycling SA condemns attack

Cape Town - Cycling South Africa (CSA) says it is horrified and disgusted by the behaviour of a group of cyclists who attacked a motorist in the Western Cape at the weekend.

WATCH: Disturbing footage of Cape Town cyclist violence

"Cycling SA condemns this type of behaviour in the strongest way possible, and in no way condones or accepts this type of behaviour," CSA said in a statement on Monday.

Video footage of a group of cyclists assaulting a motorist in Cape Town was posted on YouTube.

It shows how the cyclists argue with a driver in a white vehicle, with one of the riders at one point picking his bicycle up and pushing the front wheel through an open window.

Another cyclist is shown throwing punches at the driver before the clip ends just under a minute.

"This reaction towards a motorist cannot be justified in any manner whatsoever, whatever the circumstances," CSA said.

"There is just no place for such behaviour in our sport."

The association was in touch with the cycling clubs spotted in the footage to try and identify the individuals involved, and would take "immediate action" against them.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
