Johannesburg - South Africa's Reinardt Janse van Rensburg, took to Twitter on Thursday to express his delight after he was selected among the nine cyclists to represent Team Argos-Shimano at the Vuelta a Espana later this month.
"Stoked to make the selection for this year's vuelta," the 2012 South African Time Trial Champion posted on Twitter.
"Feeling like a kid. Can't wait."
Other riders named in the team, which includes both young and experienced riders, were Nikias Arndt, Warren Barguil, Johannes Frohlinger, Thierry Hupond, Tom Peterson, Georg Preidler, Ramon Sinkeldam and Tom Stamsnijder.
While riding for Team MTN-Qhubeka in South Africa, Janse van Rensburg dominated the local cycling scene.
In 2012 he won the Cape Argus, the Berge en Dale Classic, the national time-trial title and the 94.7 Cycle Challenge. He became the second rider to win both the Cape Argus and the Cycle Challenge in the same year.
The 21-stage Vuelta gets underway on August 24 and runs through to September 15.
