Kirchen suffers heart attack

Wetzikon - Team Katusha's sports director says that Kim Kirchen of Luxembourg has been hospitalised following an apparent heart attack after the seventh stage of the Tour of Switzerland.

Serge Parsani said Saturday that the cyclist felt dizzy at the team hotel on Friday night and was sent to the Zurich University Clinic.

He said that Kirchen apparently had a mild heart attack but is in stable condition and undergoing medical tests. Parsani said that Kirchen experienced similar problems in the spring.
