Froome to lead Sky at Liege-Bastogne-Liege

Liege - Two-time Tour de France champion Chris Froome is to race in Sunday's Liege-Bastogne-Liege Ardennes Classic, his Sky team confirmed on Thursday.

The 30-year-old has never finished above 36th in eight previous outings in the one-day race considered one of cycling's five 'Monuments' and is likely to aid his Polish team-mate Michal Kwiatkowski's bid to improve on third in 2014, the year he became world road race champion.

Kwiatkowski will likely be helping Froome over the mountains during the Tour de France in July.

Sky team for Liege-Bastogne-Liege:

Chris Froome (GBR), Michal Golas (POL), Sebastian Henao (COL), Michal Kwiatkowski (POL), Lars Petter Nordhaug (NOR), Wout Poels (NED), Salvatore Puccio (ITA), Ben Swift (GBR)
