Wiggins out of British Track Champs

London - Bradley Wiggins has pulled out of this week's British Track Championships in Manchester after picking up a cold following the Tour of Britain, British Cycling announced on Wednesday.

Wiggins, 35, was due to compete in the event for the first time in 10 years as the 2012 Tour de France winner and four-time Olympic champion begins his preparations for next year's Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

But having been advised not to compete on medical grounds, he will return to action at the European Track Championships in Switzerland in mid-October.
