Iglinskiy wins Liege Classic

Liege - Astana's Maxim Iglinskiy won the Liege-Bastogne-Liege here on Sunday, the Kazakh rider crossing the line at the end of cycling's oldest one-day classic 20 seconds clear of Italy's Vincenzo Nibali.

In third at the end of the 257.5km run came another Italian, Iglinskiy's team-mate Enrico Gasparotto, who got the better of a mini group of rivals in a sprint 36 seconds adrift.

French rider Thomas Voeckler took fourth in front of Ireland's Daniel Martin.

This was the 31-year-old Iglinskiy's first major classic crown and the second in a week for his team after Gasparotto's win in last Sunday's Amstel Gold race.
