To bring to an aped of an extended hockey career featuring an uncanny ability to sink the ball into the opposition’s backboard, Coetzee broke the world record in the 2010/11 season to become the player with the most number of Test goals to her name, eclipsing the previous record of 220. Having come back to the game after an earlier retirement, Coetzee has demonstrated that her place in history is well-deserved.
