CT Marathon parking and road closures

Cape Town - Sanlam Cape Town Marathon organisers have detailed road closes and parking instructions ahead of the weekend's races.

PARKING

The Sanlam Cape Town 10km Peace Run starts at 07:00, to avoid any delays we suggest that all marathon runners also get to the area prior to 07:00. Please do not park illegally. The Traffic Police will enforce the law and will issue fines, and possibly tow away vehicles, which are illegally parked.

Saturday, September 20

Cars can be parked in the parking areas in and around the Green Point Common (P3, P5, P6 & P4). Participants can also park at the V&A Waterfront, which will be paid parking (Breakwater Parking Garage and The Lookout).

Sunday, September 21

Cars can be parked in the parking areas in and around the Green Point Common (P5, P6, P4, P10, P13, P14) as well as 800 bays in the Cape Town Stadium (P1), accessible only from Beach Road, Mouille Point, into Fritz Sonnenberg Road (prior to 07:00); this is on a first come first served basis. P3 is reserved for VIP Parking only. Parking areas are to be accessed between 05:00 - 06:30. Participants can also park at the V&A Waterfront, which will be paid parking (Breakwater Parking Garage and The Lookout).

MYCITI SHUTTLE – SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 21 ONLY

The MyCiTi shuttle service will run between the Civic Centre and Stadium Stations from 05:30 to 06:30 at a 5 minute frequency and from 06:30 to 07:10 at a 10 minute frequency. Marshalls at Stadium Station will direct runners to their appropriate starting points.

Tickets for the shuttle service are available for purchase from registration at The Lookout in Granger Bay, at R5 per ticket. Only those runners who have purchased a Sanlam Cape Town Marathon IRT shuttle ticket will be able to use the service. Access will only be allowed on presentation of the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon IRT ticket.

No shuttle service will be provided after the event. Runners must use a myconnect card if they wish to use the Inner City service outside the above hour. Information on myconnect cards and Retailers selling cards and loading value is available on the MyCiTi website, or cards can be purchased and value loaded at any open MyCiTi Kiosk (also see website for operational hours, etc.)

ROAD CLOSURE

The following roads will be closed or temporary closed for the duration of the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon. Please could we ask for patience and for drivers to drive slowly and considerately if the runners are in your vicinity. We would like to thank Cape Town for allowing us to showcase our magnificent City.
