CSA appoints legal manager

Johannesburg - Cricket South Africa (CSA) on Tuesday announced the appointment of Meshack Pumelele (Pume) Canca as CSA Manager: Legal, Compliance and Secretariat with immediate effect.

“The appointment has been made in terms of the resolution passed by the CSA Board of Directors at their meeting in Port Elizabeth on August 19,” commented CSA Acting President AK Khan.

The relevant clause of the resolution reads as follows: “The Board and the CEO expedite the appointment of a Company Secretary/Legal Adviser”.

“I am delighted that we have been able to secure the services of such an outstanding candidate,” added Mr. Khan. “He has worked for some of South Africa’s most reputable legal firms including Mallinicks Inc. and Jan S De Villiers Attorneys. Some of the companies he has advised on the commercial front during his career include Sanlam, Petronas, Deutsche Bank as well as the Cape Town 2004 Olympic Bid Committee.”

Mr. Canca said that he was delighted to have the opportunity to serve CSA. “It is a new challenge for me and one that I am really looking forward to accepting,” he added.
