Bolt can be backed at the somewhat unattractive odds of 1/25.

100m runner-up, American Tyson Gay, is next best at 11/1 despite injuring his groin in Sunday's epic 100m showdown.

Gay's team-mates Shawn Crawford and Wallace Spearmon are joint favourites for the bronze medal at 50/1.

The men's 200m heats will take place on Tuesday, August 18 at 10:05 SA time with the quarter-finals scheduled for later that evening at 18:55. The semi-finals will take place on Wednesday, August 19 at 19:25 with the final due to start at 20:35 on Thursday, August 20.

Meanwhile, South Africa's Ruben Ramolefi is quoted at 75/1 to win the men's 3 000m steeplechase while 18-year-old sensation Caster Semenya is second favourite at 3/1 to win the women's 800m.

The final of the men's 3 000m steeplechase will take place at 19:50 on Tuesday, August 18 while the women's 800m final is set for Thursday, August 20 at 21:35.
