Cape Town - The body of Midmar Mile contestant, Nick Mellet, has been found, four days after he went missing, according to a cousin of the deceased.
Mellet, 45, went missing on Saturday afternoon while taking part in his first Midmar Mile competition.
A search began immediately after Saturday’s competition when he was reported missing as his tag was not registered at the finish line and he was nowhere to be found inland.
Mellet was last seen wearing a black Speedo and a yellow swimming cap and his registration number was 10803.
Director of the Midmar Mile, Wayne Riddin, confirmed it was the first case of this nature to be experienced in the history of the race.
