Kent Horner looks ahead...

Knysna - Kent Horner loved every minute of his only previous Big 5 Sport Challenge. He's back to win this year...

How many times have you done the BIG 5 so far, and how has your experience been each time?

Kent: Only 1 time and I underestimated the challenge it was a tough week of racing but I loved every minute of it.

What is it about the BIG 5 and Knysna that keep you coming back?

Kent: It's a crazy few days of racing and there is big element of challenge to be able to put together the various sporting codes. Exciting watching the results and working out the points.

What tips can you give to people who are competing for the first time, and might not know what to expect?

Kent: Book a massage or a few for the week. Don’t underestimate the intensity of doing a lot of shorter events. It fast but great fun you somehow feel like experience the full weeks festival.

Are there any BIG 5 participants that particularly inspire you - and why?

Kent: Stuart Marais – He is just tough, never give up will fall off his bike before losing the race.

Dan Hugo - So much talent, can throw anything at you on any given day.

Matt Trautman – Missing Matt this year as he has other race plans in Europe.

It will take a lot to beat any of these guys.

What's the one thing that you are looking forward to this year at #KOF2014?

Kent: The introduction of the swim into the Big 5 this is great. Also I have unfinished business with the marathon, I searched for a good result last year but unfortunately ran off into the mountains instead of home. After the Festival we are also taking a tour and riding our bikes back to Cape Town, so it's going to be a great two weeks away.
