Knysna - Dan Hugo is expected to challenge for the 2014 Big 5 Sport Challenge title. He discusses the week...
How many times have you done the BIG 5 so far, and how has your experience been each time?
Dan: Once, last year. Did not get to complete the event, limited by an injury. Did really enjoy the events I could complete, so too the entire week of being in Knysna and exploring more of the festival.
What is it about the BIG 5 and Knysna that keep you coming back?
Dan: Terrific family orientated week, with an adventurous undertone.
What tips can you give to people who are competing for the first time, and might not know what to expect?
Dan: Pack for all weather. Pack your sense of humour. And explore the wine festival.
Are there any BIG 5 participants that particularly inspire you - and why?
Dan: Antoine van Heerden - he is my dark horse pick the 2014 title. He has won once before, and will be tough to beat this year.
What's the one thing that you are looking forward to this year at #KOF2014?
Dan: The collective week of being there, being settled, flowing from one event to the next, the conversations and stories. It's the overall feel and mood that I love most.
