FA Cup final too close to call - bookies

accreditation

It's been a long old season and for one manager it could come to naught as Antonio Conte squares off against Jose Mourinho.

The match is being billed as Chelsea against Manchester United but in reality, the picture and the story line, is ultimately the battle of two managers who love to hate each other. Also, many other supporters love to hate them too.

This is going to be an all out war. A war of attrition is likely, a game where just one goal is likely to be enough to see that team make the walk up the steps at Wembley and be crowned champions. Although, champions of the FA Cup isn’t quite what they had in mind at the outset of the season.

Chelsea's defence of their title went down in flames leaving many to believe this game will be Conte's last in charge of the Blues, while United's "resurgence" never got out of second gear as the Red Devils grow concerned with the progress under Mourinho.

The match shapes up perfectly - neither side has any clear advantage with a win apiece in the league and neither side has any remarkable form to write of.

Both managers are embattled. Both love a fight. Both are desperate to win this and shake off some of the disappointment that has followed them this season.

Prediction

The winner? The odds suggest this one is too close to call. Manchester United are being considered slight favourites at 16/10 with BET.co.za, but the advantage is negligible.

If you're Blue go for Willian at 10/1 to be the final's first (and only?) scorer and if you're red go for Wembley specialist and World Cup bound Jesse Lingard at 8/1.

Then again, it'll probably be easier to double your money on the match being a draw in 90 minutes.

Penalties may just decide this one after all, a lottery that could send one manager up the Wembley stairs and the other to the unemployment queue.
