Cape Town - Despite not being eliminated from the tournament, bookmakers have given Argentina little to no chance of Soccer World Cup glory in Russia.

Argentina, the runners-up at the last World Cup in 2014, started this year's edition among the favourites for the title, thanks in main to their little maestro, Lionel Messi.

However, things have gone from bad to worse for the Argentines in Russia, having been held to a goalless draw by Iceland in their opener and then thrashed 3-0 by Croatia in their next match.

However, all is not lost for the South American side, as victory in their final Group D match on Tuesday, June 26 at 20:00 SA time, could see them progress to the Round of 16, depending on the outcome of other matches in the group.

Leading SA bookies BET.co.za have Brazil as 4/1 tournament favourites, followed by Spain (9/2), France (7/1), Germany and Belgium (8/1) and England (11/).

In addition, Croatia (14/), Portugal (16/1) and Uruguay (22/1) are all rated as better bets for the title than Argentina (34/1).
