Cape Town - The Springboks will complete a miserable week for South African rugby by losing, ironically, to France in their Test in Paris on Saturday.

Kick-off is at 22:00 SA time.

France became Public Enemy No 1 on Wednesday when they snatched the 2023 Rugby World Cup hosting rights out from under SA Rugby's noses.

And the French have been backed by bookmakers to add to Allister Coetzee's woes in particular by winning their one-off clash at a sold-out Stade de France this weekend.

Leading SA bookies BET.co.za have installed the home side as 11/20 favourites, while the Boks can be backed at 17/10.

The draw is on offer at 73/4.

Handicap-wise, BET.co.za see France as 4-point favourites.

As Coetzee goes on his merry way rewriting Springbok rugby's once proud record, it bears remembering that the biggest defeat ever suffered by the Boks against France is - currently - 30-10 (20-point margin) back in 2002.

The most points the Boks have ever conceded to France in a Test is the 36 they did in losing 36-26 at Newlands in 2006.

Saturday is an action-packed day of rugby with five other mouth-watering clashes:

Italy v Argentina (15:00) - BET.co.za predicts Argentina by 5 points

Wales v Georgia (16:30) - BET.co.za predicts Wales by 18 points

England v Australia (16:30) - BET.co.za predicts England by 8 points

Scotland v New Zealand (19:15) - BET.co.za predicts New Zealand by 20 points

Ireland v Fiji (19:30) - BET.co.za predicts Ireland by 26 points

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
