Batista'a MMA deal hits snag

2010-06-23 12:28

New York - Former WWE champion Batista may have jumped the gun when he said he was joining the Strikeforce MMA league.

According to the TMZ website, he hasn't signed a contract ... and the hold-up is cold, hard cash.

Sources involved in the negotiations said, Batista and Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker have already hammered out most of the details in their contract, but Batista's salary is still a major sticking point.

Coker and the former WWE star are also stuck on scheduling issues, because according to sources close to the fighter, Batista's calendar has been jam-packed with TV and movie deals since his wrestling contract expired.

Thato, I can assure you that MMA, (Mixed Marial Arts), is not acting. It is a full contact fighting sport and as real as it gets. Maybe you didn't read properly or you didn't know what MMA stands for. They are not talking about him moving to another wrestling company. Strike Force is one of the big MMA companies. I don't recon he will do very well, he is too old and doesn't have much experience in the line of fighting and wrestling, (real wrestling), he is just a body builder. Don't get me wrong, I think he is gifted and will stop a few tough guys in the octogon but he won't match up to the likes of Brok Lesner, Frank Mir, Fedor Emelionenko and the other top heavyweights.
