Australia to host 2014 PanPacs

Sydney - The 2014 Pan Pacific Swimming Championships featuring many of the world's top swimmers will be staged in Australia, Swimming Australia said on Friday.

The northern state of Queensland will host the long course event, held every four years, involving swimmers from the United States, Japan, Canada, Brazil, New Zealand and Australia.

It will be the third time Australia has hosted the PanPacs following Brisbane in 1987 and Sydney (1999).

Swimming Australia said a decision on the venue was still to be confirmed.
