Scott gets national call-up - at last!

Cape Town - Dominique Scott-Efurd has been named in a six-person South African team for the IAAF World Indoor Championships in Birmingham next month.

Having represented SA at the 2016 Rio Olympics, Scott-Efurd was overlooked for the IAAF World Championships in London last year, as well as April's Commonwealth Games on Australia's Gold Coast.

Scott-Efurd, who is based in the USA, has in recent weeks set new national records in both the 1 500m and 3 000m - races in which she will compete in in Birmingham.

The World Indoor Championships take place between March 1-4.

South Africa's team:

Men

Emile Erasmus (60m)‚ Antonio Alkana (60m hurdles)‚ Ruswahl Samaai (long jump)‚ Luvo Manyonga (long jump)

Women

Carina Horn (60m)‚ Dominique Scott-Efurd (1 500m/3 000m)
