Cape Town - World renowned ultra-distance legend, South Africa's Bruce Fordyce, has confirmed he was assaulted at gun point while on a Friday morning run in Johannesburg.
Fordyce, a nine-time Comrades winners, took to Twitter to confirm reports that he had his shoes and plastic watch stolen during the unfortunate incident.
The attack took place roughly 500m from Fordyce's home and after 5km of his planned 10km run.
Fordyce, 61, added that it was the first time he had been attacked or robbed while running‚ but was determined not to let the incident deter him, confirming that he would "be back again on the roads tomorrow morning".
