ASA special meeting postponed

Johannesburg - The ad hoc committee of Athletics South Africa announced on Saturday that the special general meeting for the election of the new ASA board, scheduled for May 24, had been moved to June 7.

The postponement was due to the inauguration of the country's State President, which will take place on May 24, chairman of the ad hoc committee, Daan du Toit, said in a statement.

The new date had been approved by the International Association of Athletics Federations and the mandate of the ad hoc committee had been extended by the IAAF to June 7, he said.

The meeting on June 7 would start at 10am.
