Johannesburg - Caster Semenya will have to wait until late August to see if she is included in South Africa's team for the Commonwealth Games.
South Africa's Olympic body, SASCOC, named an initial 115-strong squad on Wednesday for the competition in India, which begins October 3, but says the track and field and rugby sevens teams will only be announced on August 25.
Semenya returned to competition after an 11-month layoff because of gender tests by winning both her recent comeback races in Finland. Coach Michael Seme said the aim is to get the 800m world champion fit enough to compete for gold in New Delhi.
Semenya is expected to make the team and South Africa's athletics federation has said it will do all it can to help her prepare for the Commonwealth Games.
