Doha - The investigation into the gender of women's 800m world champion Caster Semenya is still ongoing, world athletics governing body said Wednesday.

The 19-year-old South African dominated the 800m event in the world championships last August in Berlin, sauntering home to take the title despite coming into the event a virtual unknown.

Her muscular physique and gravely voice drew questions about her gender. Leaked test results said Semenya was a hermaphrodite, sparking anger from the South African public and government, who rallied behind the athlete.

The sports' governing body the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) have maintained a diplomatic silence but have agreed that Semenya would keep her title won in Berlin.

Scientific tests into the gender of the first year sports science student - who grew up in a rural village in northern South Africa - have officially remained confidential.

And on Tuesday, IAAF spokesman Nick Davies refused to be drawn on Semenya.

"Discussions (into her gender) are still ongoing," Davies told reporters ahead of the World Indoor Championships in the Qatari capital.

"We will not be making any comment until further notice."

No announcement has been made on whether she can run again internationally.

The IAAF are to shit scared to tell the ANC that their precious little black boy cannot run against girls anymore.
William3/12/2010 5:03 PM
@Ronnie, uh, I don't think he should be running against women from anywhere, be it Africa or Antartica.

What's there to argue about?? If Semenya is male........ what chance does a woman have in a race against her??? Semenya can run in all the men's races his/her little heart disires, or maybe even start a event exclusivly for hermaphrodites, for any race, colour or creed... for all I care! A s far as I am concerned, Semenya's mother is the real culprit in this scenario.... she knew all this since she is the one who decided what 'sex' her baby should be! The Officials are too cowardly and embarrassed to admit they were taken for a huge ride! It's a 'Pride' thing. Semenya, also knew all along and knew that if he/she kept her mouth shut, she/he would get away with it! I, for one don't give a damn what Semenya wants or does....Just stay out of women's races!! We don't run as fast as men!!!

The quickest way to verify Caster's gender is for her to spend a night with Julias and see who gives who taxi money the following morning.

Please stop this S%^T and let him compete againts the RIGHT gender...

Well said Whytemann. I could add but we all know the truth. 16 years after apartheid and they still want to kill the white people (which they do). Is there a future in this rain-killed nation??? Do we think the killers of white people (SWC visitors) will ask "Are you English or Afrikaans" before they kill them??? Hey a Lotto is a Lotto, no matter what challenge!!
William3/11/2010 7:40 PM
Semenya he are a woman...Quoting Julias Malema. With male gonads and no womb, this is a nobrainer, Semenya he are a man - take note Juliarse Malema and Co.
The Prophet3/11/2010 6:45 PM
Well said Whytemann, could not have said it better myself.
Whytemann3/11/2010 6:10 PM
Yes, what are they hiding? These tests cannot possibly take that long. If the IAAF are not releasing the results because they are still talking to the ANC about how best to break the news without making, Winnie, Juliarse and the rest of the ANC gang who were so quick to sling racial insults at the whites look bad, then please, IAAF, just read the newslines about how Malema has threatened to kill the whites in SA and how the ANC have defended him - and then ask yourselves if you still want to anything to do with the stealing, murdering, morally corrupt, racist, backward,ANC? And if you do, then please take note that when the news hit the world that JMalema has threatended to kill the whites, several tours to SA were cancelled because they deem it unsafe here! I beg you, don't give any further legitimacy to these barbarians who, but for the whites in SA, would still be in mud huts.

Why are there discussions? This isn't something you can debate. Either she's 100% female, or she's not. That's all that matters as far as athletics is concerned. If she's less than 100% woman, then she shouldn't be there.
Larry3/11/2010 5:48 PM
Its ridiculous for the IAAF not to have this finalized. They can not cover it up, as the female athletes would not be happy if Semenya ever races against a woman, ever again. So, it is good that ANC Bullying, posturing and threats mean nothing. Its also good that in this instance, political correctness goes out the window, so, Get on with it. Ban Semenya for life and be done with it. Let Semenya keep the medal and issue another to the real winner (who will also not keep quiet, until its done).
