Mo Farah: Stop being nasty!

Cape Town - Double Olympic gold medallist Mo Farah has defended the hapless New Orleans news anchor who asked him if he'd ever run before.

LaTonya Norton's embarrassing interview with the Brit took place after Farah won the New Orleans half-marathon in a record time of one hour 59 seconds on Sunday.

Farah was mistaken for a fun runner by Norton, who asked: "Haven't you run before? This isn't your first time?"

Farah managed to brush off the error at the time and on Wednesday went one further, tweeting: "Just wanna say to everyone being nasty to LaTonya Norton please stop!! She made a mistake like we all do!! She didn't mean anything by it!"

Farah won gold in the men's 5000m and 10 000m at last year's London Olympics.
