Magakwe equals SA record

Johannesburg - Sprinter Simon Magakwe equalled the 24-year-old national men's 100 metres record at the SA University Athletics Championships in Johannesburg on Friday.

Magakwe clocked 10.06 seconds in the semi-finals to match the national mark set by Johan Rossouw in 1988.

He was set to line up again in the final later in the afternoon.

      It was wind assisted and did not count as a record.

    Well done Simon, I hope soon you don't equal but improve on Rossouw's 1988 record time and Paul Nash's unrecognised 10 seconds because of a too strong wind
