Johannesburg - The streets of Johannesburg were buzzing with excitement on Friday when a record field of 7 734 runners gathered to celebrate National Women’s Day at the much loved Totalsports Ladies Race.
Nedbank runner Cornelia Joubert set the course on fire in the 10km Totalsports Ladies Race crossing the finish line first in 37:55.
According to Joubert, it was a tough 10km race.
“This is the fifth time that I take part in the Totalsports Ladies Race. The competition was tough, while the route was really difficult, featuring more hills than last year. The weather also didn’t make racing any easier. I’m happy to finally take first place. The event was well organised and there was a great vibe amongst runners. I really enjoyed taking part,” said Joubert.
Christine Kalmer came in second, while Dianna Dalula finished third.
