Prague - Two-time Olympic javelin champion Barbora Spotakova said on Thursday she was expecting her second child in the summer and would be taking a break from the sport until the autumn.
"I would like to start getting ready for 2019 in autumn," said the 36-year-old Czech, who has a four-year-old son named Janek.
"I already know it's possible to combine motherhood and a career in sports," added the Olympic champion from Beijing 2008 and London 2012, who also has bronze from Rio 2016.
The world record holder with 72.28 metres from 2008 also won world titles in Osaka in 2007 and London in 2017. She is the European champion from 2014.
"I don't like planning too far ahead, you never know what life has in store," Spotakova said.
"But at the moment the event I want to aim at is the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2020."
