Zagreb - Croatia's former world high jump champion Blanka Vlasic on Monday confirmed that she will return to competition next weekend in Gothenburg, Sweden, after a seven-month injury absence.
The Croatian, who said she felt "very well", will take part in the indoor meet in Gothenburg on Saturday before competing in Prague on February 25 and in the World Indoor Championships in Sopot, Poland, on March 7-9.
"With those indoor competitions we want to break the monotony of training," the 30-year-old Vlasic added.
The Croatian last competed in July last year at a Diamond League meet in Monaco when she came third.
She missed the 2012 Olympics because of repercussions from a poorly-performed operation on an ankle, but had shown she was returning to form after a 20-month absence with victory in her first event back, the Diamond League meet in New York.
Vlasic won world gold in 2007 and 2009, as well as silver in 2011.
