Cape Town - Olympic champion Alistair Brownlee marked his return from injury to win the ITU World Triathlon Series race in Cape Town on Sunday after recovering from a fall early in the run.
Brownlee caught up with the leading group of Javier Gomez Noya, Vincent Luis and Richard Murray, before pulling away over the final 1,500 meters.
Brownlee, also the current world and European champion, made it a British double in South Africa after Vicky Holland won Saturday's women's race.
Brownlee had missed the first three races of the season with an ankle injury but returned to claim his 18th series win, extending his record as its most successful athlete.
Holland took her first career win with a strong finish in the run to beat women's series leader Katie Zaferes.
