Johannesburg - World Championship 800m gold medallist Caster Semenya, will be one of several track and field stars out to get the 2011 Yellow Pages Series season off to a golden start, at the PUK/McArthur stadium in Potchefstroom on Saturday (13:30 start).

With Yellow Pages having spiced up the 2011 campaign with a R200 000 Pot of Gold incentive to be shared by athletes who set South African senior records during the eight events, SA's athletics stars will be out to get their share of the honours.

While Semenya and Central Gauteng middle distance sensation Mapaseka Makhanya are expected to steal the show, other highlights on the programme could be the javelin showdown between the North West trio of Commonwealth Games gold medallist Sunette Viljoen, world junior championship bronze medallist Tazmin Brits and former world junior championship heptathlon gold medallist Justine Robbeson.

Athletics is a family-orientated, fun-filled sports package and the hour and a half Series programmes, promise to deliver value-for-money sports action.

"Tickets for each event will be R20 and they can be purchased at the gate. The first 700 fans to enter the venues will each receive a complimentary sporty hat.

Following the athletics action in Potchefstroom, the Series will move on to Tshwane (Friday, February 25) and the Western Cape (Thursday, February 10).
