Rome - World 100m record holder Usain Bolt will renew his rivalry with fellow Jamaican Asafa Powell at the Diamond League meet here on May 31, organisers confirmed on Tuesday.

Bolt was a huge draw at the Olympic Stadium last year where almost 50 000 people turned up to watch the world's fastest man.

He didn't disappoint either by overhauling Powell with a late surge to win the 100m in 9.91sec.

Five-time world champion Bolt will open his pre-Olympic season in Europe competing in the Golden Spike event in the eastern Czech city of Ostrava on May 25.

After Rome he will compete in the Oslo leg of the Diamond League meet on June 7, as he prepares for the Olympic Games in London this summer.
