Cape Town - There has been yet another delay in the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee’s (SASCOC) attempt to get to the bottom of allegations of financial irregularities and mismanagement at Athletics South Africa (ASA), according to a report on Eyewitnessnews.
The Olympics body has postponed ASA General Manager Molatelo Malehopo’s disciplinary hearing so that lawyers could add more charges to his wrap sheet.
It was scheduled to take place last Friday.
ASA President Leonard Chuene, his board and several staff were suspended last November following the Caster Semenya gender debacle but almost a year down the line, there has been no finality on the matter.
Chuene and two other board members recently took SASCOC to court to stop the disciplinary hearing against the three of them from going ahead.
SASCOC’s chief financial officer Vinesh Maharaj said it was unclear when Malehopo’s hearing would take place.
