Johannesburg - Athletics SA interim managers failed to appear for a hearing at the CCMA on Monday after ASA media manager, Ethel Manyaka, took legal action against the federation.
Manyaka's dispute centres around leave that she was allegedly forced to take.
Manyaka's told ASA administrator Ray Mali, she was interested in furthering her studies - and would be looking to take extended leave.
She was however, not willing to leave the office until suspended ASA president Leonard Chuene and the rest of her "employers" either returned from suspension or were replaced.
Manyaka said she was forced into taking leave in May and was told she could return to her post after the conclusion of an ongoing inquiry - conducted by the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC), into the suspended board members and employees.
The disciplinary hearings against the suspended figures, however, have been postponed indefinitely.
Manyaka allegedly received a letter from Mali’s assistant, Richard Stander, dated May 24, stating that the interim ASA board had decided she should "take annual leave with immediate effect until the SASCOC hearing is concluded and the ASA office operations are normalised."
Stander said Manyaka would be paid according to the number of days leave to which she was entitled in her contract.
"I did not apply for leave and I am not responsible for the situation at ASA," Manyaka said.
Stander said Manyaka's response would be "brought to the attention of the ASA interim board", but the federation proceeded to apply the enforced leave.
