Cape Town - Seven-time Tour de France winner, Lance Armstrong, will compete in this year's Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour, according to his Twitter page.
Armstrong, who formed his own RadioShack team late last year after splitting from the Astana team, wrote the following on his Twitter page on Wednesday evening:
Hey South Africa! Excited to come down in March. Bringing your man @darylimpey with me. And yes, we're racing The Argus. Hear gr8 things. South Africa's Daryl Impey forms part of the RadioShack team and competed alongside Armstrong in the recently concluded Tour Down Under in Adelaide.
The Argus Cycle Tour will take place on Sunday, March 14.
Armstrong will be in South Africa from March 9-11 as part of a fund-raising initiative for the JAG Foundation and will be holding a series on breakfasts, dinners and a 100km ride around the Cape for which fellow cycling enthusiasts can pay to join.
