FMX tour hits Pretoria

The second leg of the “Red Bull X-fighters Jams” free style motocross (FMX) tour kicked off in Hatfield Pretoria today, with legendary South African champion Nick de Wit and his personal selection of the best riders in the country in action.

De Wit has reached as high as 5th in the World Rankings and placed 4th in two separate World Cup events, and was the first African to compete in Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour. De Wit’s honours also include 4th place in X Games and Best Trick in the Dubai leg of the World Tour.

De Witt said he would enjoy performing in historic sites around South Africa. “Red Bull X-Fighters take place in locations where you would never expect top-class motorsports,” said De Witt. “The FMX tour stops at the most famous cities and historic sites all around the world and we are looking forward to bringing the Jams to SA.”

The Red Bull X-Fighters Jams was designed as a series of FMX exhibitions to showcase the main Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour and attract thousands of people in every country it takes place in. So far the World Tour has visited the United Arab Emirates (Apr 15), Brazil (May 28), Italy (June 24) and Spain (July 15). The tour will stop in Poland on August 6, before finishing in Australia on September 17.

First leg of the X-fighter Jams took place on Durban’s North Beach on July and the tour will hit Potchefstroom next on July 23 before moving on to Stellenbosch on August 6 and ending in Bloemfontein on August 13.
