Johannesburg - South Africa's Olympic committee says it will prove all four of its candidate cities were invited to bid to host the 2020 Olympics after three claimed they were not given a fair chance.
Chief executive Tubby Reddy told local media on Monday that the country's Olympic body, SASCOC, would issue details on Tuesday that showed Durban, Cape Town, Johannesburg and Port Elizabeth were all invited to bid and were aware of the deadline involved.
SASCOC said earlier this month that Durban was its only candidate after the other three failed to express interest.
But an official from Cape Town has said he was not aware of any deadline and representatives from Johannesburg and Port Elizabeth claim they received no invitation.
