Cape Town -  Sport24 takes a quick look at the FIVE best and WORST sports performers of the weekend.

GOING UP! The FIVE BEST sports stars or teams of the weekend:

1. Rory McIlroy -  Dubai Desert Classic winner and the world's best golfer now has four wins in his last seven European Tour starts.

2. Tom Brady and the New England Patriots - Super Bowl XLIX winners. Brady now joins two others as a quarterback with 4 Super Bowl wins.

3. Wilfried Bony - Bony sends Ivory Coast into the last 4 of AFCON 2015 with a brace.

4. Lydia Ko - At 17, she becomes the youngest world number one golfer.

5. Arsenal - Five star Gunners trounce Aston Villa.

GOING DOWN! The FIVE WORST sports stars or teams of the weekend:

1. Saracens - Lost at 39-26 home to the Blue Bulls, who are only just beginning their 2015 season's preparations.

2. Aston Villa - Lost 5-0 to Arsenal and have now gone 10 hours and six matches since their last league goal in December.

3. England Cricket Team - Missed the chance to beat Australia after having their hosts 60/4 in the final on the ODI triangular series.

4. Andy Murray - When he's not blaming the media for his partner's foul-mouthed rant, the Scot is losing Australian Open finals. He has now made the final at Melbourne Park four times in six years and lost them all.

5. Diego Costa - Banned for violent conduct and missed Chelsea's 1-1 draw at home to Manchester City.
