Whats up with the Lions?

Although I'm an Eastern Cape boy, I've been a loyal Lions' supporter since 98/99 while they were still known as the Cats (Merged with the Cheetahs). I have stuck with them all these years and still remain a proud supporter even to this day.

Just when we thought after being crowned Currie Cup Champions last year all is well with the Lions and they were going to be one of the teams to beat in this year's Super Rugby. Sadly they were one of the teams to be beat (won only 3 matches) as they finished at the bottom of the combined Super Rugby log, which is not unfamiliar territory for them.

What has really drawn my attention and worry about the Lions is the off-field incidents that usually creep in just when you thought they on an upward curve. We can argue about the on-field results and blame it on injuries (to almost the entire team), but is the administration also injured? Reason I am asking this, the Lions can never be competitive due to administration errors that seem to be part of their culture. I am sure we all remember the administration blunders that led to their big players going to other unions(Jaque Fourie and Brian Mujati  = Stormers, Willem Alberts and Loui Ludik = Sharks), just to name a few.

Now the coach has been suspended, assistant and conditioning coach (contracts terminated), captaincy being declined, arbitration talks (Pumas and Leopards) hasn't done their reputation any good. I hope something will be done so we don't end up like other unions who used to be.
