I’ve seen this Bafana team play very good football under coach Gordon, something that we last saw under Clive Barker, the boys are again showing character and determination, they are playing like a South African team and are scoring goals and more importantly are not terrible to watch. The truth is that we would be very lucky if Gordon immediately got desired results in a space of twelve months or so with our team, our competitors in the same sport who have kept coaches for four or more years are today reaping results of teams that play like well oiled machines, and consistently banging goals and bringing results home.
We have changed Bafana Bafana coaches like napkins in little babies, and yet achieved nothing, we appointed Gordon and we saw a bit of light in a short time, surely if we give him more time he can do amazing things with this team. For years supporters and sporting people in the country have been singing a single tuned song; that Gordon should be given the Job to coach Bafana, the man now has the Job, give him a chance where he does not have to clean a mess that was created by someone, give him realistic mandates and judge him on both time on the job and the ultimate results.
Finally, anyone who does not see what Gordon has done with the Bafana is probably blind or chooses to close their eyes when this team play football or simply dislikes the man, besides I’ve been analysing these previous men (excluding Clive Barker) who had the opportunity to coach Bafana Bafana, those who came by air, ocean or road and still cannot find anyone who was able to transform this team the way Gordon did, you might have missed the semi final sport in Afcon Gordon, you might the lost against Ethiopia, but hey you know what you are doing with this team, and if we plan to go anywhere with Bafana Bafana, then you are the right man for the Job.
Thank you Gordon Igesund, you really worked hard to get out of that 2014 qualifier mess that you inherited, you were just unfortunate, best of luck with Bafana !!!!!!!!!
