Springbok rugby is dead!

If SARFU thought the appointment of Heyneke Meyer, would be the answer to SA RUGBY, they where having a bad dream only to be waken up by reality!

Meyer has not coached rugby actively since mid 2008.  Although he had an excellent record with the Bulls, they won games but with negative rugby!

What are we left With? A coach that cannot even let an excellent 15 players perform the basics at break downs, the worst number ten in world rugby, but he may kick a goal or two but cannot set off the back line or dictate the match. Our two best coaches sit in the commentating studio of Supersport, and our best flanker/fetcher sit in the free state having a braai on test days because he is not deemed good enough.  Our best scrum-halve is a replacement 10 minute before the end.

The coaches excuse is that we have a lot of youngsters in the team. Bullshit, if the coach cant even get the team to do the basics at the break points, how should the rest of the game come together.  Should there be an excuse that youth should be the problem or is it to cover your own incompetence.

There is no innovation in our forward or back's play patterns, although there is no lack of talent.

We as supporters sit and watch in anticipation every weekend, just to be let down by political appointments of coaching staff, or credentials based on somebody that coached 4 years ago.

Why is it so difficult?  Get a modern coach with modern supporting staff and pick teams ons merit not loyalty! Pick players on merit, if to mention Brussouw, and I dare any body to disagree with me?!

Either Meyer must except he is old and rusted and get decent help either from Eddy Jones, or from his prayers, or he must except that he is too old and old fashioned for the job at hand, or we are in for another four years as was the case under Snorre de Villiers.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
