Refs must be held accountable

Like in any job, a rugby referee is given certain responsibilities and yes I understand that there is such a thing as the human factor, which means they can also make mistakes, but as long as they are not held accountable in public, nothing will change!

They seem to act like gods as they are not allowed to be criticized by teams, as the team will get fined but the problem is that in most of their poor decisions, they don't suffer the consequences, but the teams do!

I haven't heard of any referee that has been fined, his match fee for a poor job done.  Maybe if the public can see that action is taken against such a referee, and he is humiliated in public, they will pull up their socks.  As long as their are no consequences for them, their will be no accountability, and the status quo will stay exactly the same!
