'Nope, I didn't watch it'

As a avid supporter of most things South African, this morning when someone mentioned the ODI yesterday I simply said "Nope, didn't watch it" (even though I did). Reason for the bizarre behavior is due to the fact that I had so much extra time on my hands I could watch a moderately good Black Caps side pummel a inexperienced Proteas side instead of doing anything else more productive.

I personally feel there were a few "areas of concern". The first being obvious - Running between the wickets and calling the run. Gary Kirsten would probably have to take this one since it has nothing to do with bowling or fielding..Let's hope they could get this done.. ehem Graeme "Can't run 3" Smith etc.

The second thing is that it seems Faf is not taking this captaincy seriously enough? I think Kepler Wessels almost had a mild heart attack when he saw the SS1 camera crew pointing the camera at Faf and a member of the management team - And he was smiling as though we were winning.

Why even bother with making Hashim Amla the vice captain if everytime we need him to step up and take over he simply says "I would rather concentrate on my batting" ?

Quinton de Kock - he is too young, rather use Dane Vilas or even Darryn Smit? And give de Kock some time to gain experience..he has the potential, just give him some time.

As for Ryan McLaren - Let's not say to much about his effort yesterday. The only thing I will utter is : Chris Morris, where art thou?

If I didn't mention a specific incident or a player, that is not because they played good enough. I simply can only complain THIS much on one day...

Let's hope we can at least salvage a bit of pride on Friday, but as it stands now, I'm backing the Black Caps. Please Proteas - Prove me wrong.
