My thoughts on sport

The Windies players can play and entertain no doubt, but when will they do it as a (National) Team?

Rugby

New Zealand was the best team in the Championship and hence the champions of it!

Excuses about the game? Rather leave it …..

Heyneke should take stock and learn his lessons. The players staying behind (Pat Lambie, De Jongh, Serfontein, Etzebeth Coenie, Basson etc.) should start the games against the northern hemisphere teams. JJ is promising, but still need to do some work – give De Jongh a proper chance.

Leave De Villiers behind and give the talented Serfontein a chance at 12! De Villiers should be rested so that he can last until WC2015.

Etzebeth is promising, talented and young, but he tries to hard so let’s rein in Bakkies for two more years. Victor’s role/position has still not been filled so please use him as a consultant to fast track the talented Pieter Steph du Toit and others. We (Bokke) have talent galore and with the right plans in place we will be world champions again in 2015. Carter, Nonu, McCaw, Smith, Mealamu will be aged by the next world cup. NZ is the best at the moment, but got no clear talent pool for 2015 world cup.

Well done Australia, perhaps being tough on the discipline front is starting to reap rewards. O’Connor, Beale and Cooper are needed in world rugby though so rehabilitate them and move on. We need Aussie rugby to be strong again (did I say that!)

Let’s not take anything away from the All Blacks- they are the best team in the world by means of WC and Championship conquerors. But why oh why would be sub Bismarck when on the attack (scrum) close to the opposition try-line? Why don’t Vermaak make the squad ahead of Pienaar?

Le Roux was probably the man of the match for the Boks, but with the opportunities he had Basson would most probably have ended off with a hat-trick on the game.

What more does Lambie have to do to get more than 10 minutes’ game time? Why afford JJ Engelbrecht all these opportunities but dropping Bjorn Basson so easily?

Do we need quotas to be enforced?

For all those who cry NO, please talk to us again when Schalk gets pushed ahead of Kolisi, Karr.

WP’s victory over the Lions just gave them a replay against the same opponents again. The Bulls never looked like a team who was playing for a spot into the knock-outs. Young and brave, but unfortunately not good enough yet. Seems like Pollard is only playing to beat Naas Botha’s goal kicking record?

WP will have to do it all over again, but with not much players lost to the Springboks they were always at an advantage.

Well done to all the winning teams!

Soccer

Arsenal (and Liverpool) as mentioned on previous occasions won’t last the race, but should be good enough for top four positions though.

Pirates will have it all to do and that without any support of the PSL (sic!) throughout their African campaign. No real surprises in all the games which were played.

It seems that positions number 2 and 3 will remain with Liverpool and Arsenal as it seem that they will keep on producing the goods. Of course Chelsea is going to win the league!

At least Manchester United managed to move into the Top 10 so it seems that they will qualify for Europa League actions next season.

Well done to all the winning teams!

Well done Vettel with your Korean GP victory!
