Morne plays the wrong game

Even at the top of his game I would not have him as my Bok no 1. The reason being that he plays the wrong game. The Boks have now (hopefully) finally moved away from a kicking game and into the more attractive running game where tries are scored and games are won via 7 pointers. I agree that a team needs a good goal kicker and having said that, for other guys like Lambie, Goosen and Jantjies it is just as easy to slot those penalties and conversions. They however have in them the ability to get a backline away and to play the expansive game which is something Morne has never been able to do as he is just not that type of player.
Combine for instance a Lambie or Goosen at no. 10 with Joe Pietersen at fullback and you have 2 players who can run the ball in general play and who can also slot the kicks as Joe as just as accurate as anyone else and can serve as a backup if the no. 10 has an iffish day.
