Cape Town - So, WADA, USADA , various bodies for the banning of doping all say "It's a battle we can't win".
Let us accept the fact, stop spending money on the chase for drug cheats and let them dope all they want.
Let us rejoice in the fact that we will see epic feats of human achievement, and then let the realisation set in that these cheats so-called "superhuman" efforts will result in the early death, disfigurement, debilitating "side effects" and a mere mention in the pages of history.
Let us highlight the pain and suffering, the early death and physical and psychological problems that drug cheats shall bring upon themselves and cause them to ask themselves "Was it worth it?" After all, we know the answer - a resounding NO.
Look around at the astounding amounts of money spent trying to catch the "cheats" many years after their spark has faded, and wonder what could it have better been spent on...
The purveyors of these astounding drugs will no longer have to spend huge amounts of money to mask their products, and the pharmaceutical skills can be better utilised in fighting Diabetes, Cancers, Parkinsons, Alzheimers, Cystic Fibrosis and many other diseases that afflict the rest of the poor mortals that watch enthralled as these "superhumans" allow themselves to be drawn down to hollow shells of their former selves.
Let the debate begin...
