Rory Kleinveldt was very badly managed.Very high-profile stressful tour down-under -No 1 ranking at stake and Australia is known to be of the most difficult and intimidating places to tour Why expose Rory Kleinveldt with no international experience to that ?
Surely he has the physical potential but is he strong mentally to cope with it on first outing? The gamble was sure too high .
I am afraid all the goodwill that Rory Keinveldt generated over the years could be tarnished and his confidence to play on that level could also be badly dented-which is very unfortunate! That potentially be the end of his international career.
What should have happened considering above was to phase him in by letting him play in less high -profile tournaments like the upcoming home series with Nieu-Zealand. Very talented players like Dean Elgar and Thami Tsolikeli could also be destroyed in this way.
Cricket SA and selectors should have our ranking as top priority and tried / tested battle -hardend individuals -the likes of Neil Mckenzie-should be on the field to confront what is thrown at them.Sorry not the the time place and opportunity to experiment.
