As someone who played a lot of sport from school days and watched the likes of Frik/Mof/Jannie/Gys etc. play their rugby every week,I for one believe that the modern era is more geared towards financial gain than being a brilliant rugby player.
Yes times have changed and we have to move on.
If however your career starts moving in the wrong direction (albeit very slowly) and you have the opportunity to make the last few years financially beneficial towards your pension, why not.
If however you believe you should still be playing for your country, I say thanks for your service over the years – we need to groom some “small Bokkies” to take over.
