1. The 2004 Olympics Mens 4 X 100m freestyle win – An epic race and I can still recall the wild celebrations of Roland Schoeman, Ryk Neethling, Lyndon Ferns and Darian Townsend while the stunned Americans looked on.
2. JP Duminy’s maiden Test century – The young rookie in the team combined with Dale Steyn for a record ninth wicket partnership against Australia. Duminy’s brilliant 166 under pressure took SA from a 200 run deficit to a match-winning position which helped seal the Proteas first ever series win in Australia.
3. South Africa 36 England 0 at the 2007 Rugby World Cup.
The same two teams would meet later on in the final but in this group
game the Springboks (inspired by Fourie Du Preez’s superb display)
completely overwhelmed the English, who were World Champions at the
time.
