Western Province players caused some chaos during their Currie Cup open-top bus victory parade when they threw money at the crowd assembled in Khayelitsha, forcing the Union to issue a grovelling apology for the players actions:

Here's what Sport24 readers had to say about the incident:

"If you've got it, flaunt it!"
- mathews.beki

"Rent-A-Crowd"
- ReneMuller.XOXO

@Rene "The funniest thing is that, that crowd will use the cash to go buy a Crusaders jersey :) " -  Jimmy NZ

"No class, WP."
- goyougoodthing

"It reminds me of Loftus when ticket sales were so bad last year that they had to pick up bus loads of people in Soweto and give them free entry to make the stadium look full. I still laugh when I think of those horrible red T shirts they made the poor okes wear."
- Bootman bokke

"The money was from Supersport, there were a flood of requests for refunds from disgruntled viewers after the Sharks/Bulls semi-final." - stirrer.stirrer

"Was the money to say sorry for 11 years no cups?" - jasper.benadie

"It wasn't necessary. After all, they have already given generously to Province supporters this year! (Currie Cup is already a great gift to fans)."
- PS

"It's the old saying: Money doesnt buy class and it also holds true that winning trophies is no guarantee of class either. WP are showing their inexperience with winning trophies." - AlecJacksonSA

"At least the Sharks don't have to buy their fans." - Dawn Campbell Gibson

@Dawn " Maybe they should have. Then Kings Park could have been full on the final." - Eric

"Let them have cake."
  - Stuart Crooks

"Very irresponsible of them. All I can say is, lucky nobody got hurt."
- BlueRaven.01

"They needed the money for front teeth." - Sharkie Fin
